A drone inspecting a pitched shingle roof with a brick chimney and skylights

A May hailstorm left this two-story with bruised shingles, two cracked skylights and an owner who didn't know where to start.

We flew the roof the next morning and sent a photo report the same afternoon, which the owner forwarded to their insurer. Once the claim was settled we stripped it to the deck, replaced the soft sheets and put on impact-rated shingles, which can lower the premium on many home policies.

What we did

  • Tore off two layers of old shingles
  • Replaced six sheets of soft decking
  • Synthetic underlayment, ice and water shield in the valleys
  • Class 4 impact-rated architectural shingles
  • New flashing on the chimney and both skylights
